Are you a First Class Graduate who is looking for valuable Primary School experience as a Teaching Assistant?

Are you available to work as a Teaching Assistant from September to July ahead of your Primary PGCE next year?

Would you thrive in a school with pupils with a higher than average number of children eligible for free school meals?

*** Teaching Assistant in Gravesend Primary School
*** Teaching Assistant - Earn £60 per day
*** Intervention work –Literacy and Numeracy
*** Experience with children with SENs desirable
*** Supportive SENCO
*** Teaching Assistant post - Interviewing now!!!

My client Primary SENCO is looking for a bright and energetic Graduate to join their team of Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants. The new Teaching Assistant will thrive in an environment where the children have a lower than average attainment levels in literacy and numeracy. You will be focusing on developing skills in grammar, punctuation and spelling while maintaining pupils’ enthusiasm and enjoyment of writing improving pupils’ oral communication skills, so their spoken English is consistently coherent and grammatically correct.

The intervention work that you will be carrying out will be predominantly on a one-to-one basis. You will be working alongside the class teachers to help identify specific learning needs and then helping the children outside of the classroom. Some of the children will have specific special educational needs and experience with SENs is desirable. The whole experience as a Teaching Assistant should give you a fantastic grounding in understanding the full needs of Primary age children and will set you up nicely before embarking on your Primary PGCE.

The new Teaching Assistant will be a Graduate who has an excellent academic record. Your literacy and numeracy must be outstanding and you will have a natural ability to convey your knowledge to the children in an easily understandable way.

The SENCO will give you exceptional support. They will work with you to ensure you are comfortable and confident in your role as a Teaching Assistant and will provide you with the necessary learning material and techniques to ensure your work is effective.

The Primary School serves the Gravesend community and currently has over 400 on roll. The School benefits from a stunning new building, extensive playing fields and a wonderful range of outdoor play equipment.

Pupil behaviour has improved dramatically over the recent past with strong links being established with the school and children’s families. The School has a Family Liaison Officer who will ensure that your work to improve literacy and numeracy levels is backed up at home as much as possible. Ofsted recently commented that pupil behaviour is “good”.

So, if you are a Graduate who is set for a sparkling career as a Primary School Teacher and you would like a challenging but rewarding Teaching Assistant role ahead of your Primary PGCE, then please send your CV to John at EduStaff today.
