Our Client; a Globally operating Tier 1 Automotive company that specializes in the supply and manufacture of high technology electrical and electronic components, supplying most of the major Automotive OEM’s, are enjoying continued growth in terms of new projects. Given this rise in new business, their task now is to find an experienced DVP Engineer (FORD) on a permanent basis. Offering a competitive (albeit negotiable and dependent upon relevant experience) basic salary, together with a full and comprehensive benefits package, this role is available immediately.

Reporting to the Lead DVP Engineer, you will be responsible for the Design Verification Planning and Reporting for vehicle electrical distribution systems and components. However, the bulk of this role will see you carrying out testing, documenting, analysing and reporting results. In detail:

-Selects relevant SDS requirements per program. Gains agreements to requirements from Ford.
-Set up EFDVS for reversible programs.
-Plans and creates the design verification process.

-Carries out vehicle and test board level testing and produces test reports.
-Communicates NOK’s and reports out the status to the team.
-Participates in design reviews to ensure Ford SDS’s are adhered too.

-Participates in EDS design/development meetings PMST (EDS) to understand and be aware of issues. Reports results and advises risk of failures.
-Follows up on open issues to bring to a satisfactory conclusion.
-Advises on subsequent design changes and develops sign off retest plans where required.
-Ensures EDS requirements for test vehicles/buck/rigs etc are made, agreed and shown on the test and development plan.

-Raises and/or tracks for EDS Deviations for requirements that cannot be met and ensures that they get approved by Ford.

FMA/Quality History:
-Collate and review quality history data.
-Participates in Campaign prevention / FMEA / FMA reviews.
-Assists with SCAAF reviews and updating of SCAAF document.

Qualifications and Experience ideally required:
-Should ideally be educated to Degree level or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, although lesser qualifications with plenty of relevant experience in an Automotive DVP role is acceptable.
-You will need experience of the Automotive DVP process.
-Experience of FORD DVP and sign-off processes and software (SDS, eFDVS, eDeviation etc) ideally needed.
-Will need a good working knowledge of Electrical Test Equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, power supply etc).
-Will ideally have an understanding of vehicle EDS (electrical distribution systems) and electrical systems.
-Will show practical ability for vehicle mechanical and electrical diagnosis and repair.
-Will offer strong negotiation and communication skills, be flexible and strongly analytical.
-Should be prepared on occasion to travel nationally and internationally, be legally able to work in the UK and have a valid driving licence and passport.
