Corporate development Engineering Manager

I am recruiting for a global engineering firm that looking to bolster their corporate strategy team by hiring an engineering strategy development manager due to domestic and global growth.

Role description

The successful engineering strategy development manager, will outline the continuing aims and objectives through the development in defining long-term objectives through the planning and implementation of the annual strategy.

As the strategy development manager, you will be acutely aware with the overall company aims and objectives and ensure that they are applied to projects with the projects within the Corporate Planning department.

The manner of projects will be varied and can involve any area of the business from Mergers and acquisitions and partnerships with third parties to digitization of internal business and engineering process, as such we are looking to people that have a breadth of technical as well as a strong financial corporate understanding of projects, ideally, as such candidates that have a consultancy background will be welcomed to apply.

Duties and responsibilities

The strategy development manager will be managing cross functional corporate projects in line with company commercial objectives, as such the strategy development manager will be take ownership for delivering business analysis, ensuring targets are met, managing projects to ensure that they are within the existing strategic boundaries and in line with planned corporate strategic objectives.

The strategy development manager will identify road blocks within the business and define commercial solutions. This role would suit a senior project manager or manager that has experience in identifying cost saving solutions, ensuring projects are based in a commercial reality, actively identify revenue generating opportunities from exiting IP, Mergers and acquisitions and partnerships.

You will be expected to put forward plans to board level and have the experience of gaining senior level stake holder sponsorship and support.

Experience of working in global or large organization is a must and having worked on cross functional corporate projects would be an advantage.

You will be expected to put forward business cases and you must be data driven in regards to your reasoning for putting forwards proposals.

Experience and qualifications required

* Degree qualified in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering or Law
* Additional professional qualifications desirable but not a prerequisite (e.g. MBA, CIMA, ACCA)
* At least 5 years of automotive or other commercial experience
* Strong commercial acumen with an awareness of financial and operational performance metrics and valuation techniques
* Previous strategy, M&A or investment experience focusing on business case development
* Experience in project management and delivery of projects with multiple contributors, operating across company functions, global borders and cultures
* High level of interpersonal skills to work a pro-actively in dynamic environment
