This global supplier of Automotive Components with over 160 years expertise, are currently looking for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer from a Buildings, Facilities and Site Services background, to join their team in the West Midlands.  You will have a proven track record in facilities maintenance, with electrical skills or qualifications, and basic plumbing skills.  In return, they offer a competitive salary and package including pension, 25 days holiday + stats.

Job Purpose:-

Respond to the demands of the site in terms of the general, routine and planned maintenance of the building and facilities including all site services. Ensuring that all areas meet the standards required to operate safely in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:-

Carry out all minor electrical repairs in relation to buildings and utilities, planned and executed in such a way so as to minimise risk or inconvenience to others.
Complete plumbing repairs as and when required
Check and test fire pumps, sprinkler systems routinely
Routine Fire Alarm testing
Portable Appliance Testing as and when required
Carry out daily, weekly and monthly health and safety checks and inspections e.g. fire extinguishers and emergency lighting and take timely corrective action. Report problems and/or unsafe practices to relevant Manager and Health and Safety, together with any recommendations for improvements.
Contact external contractors as required and accompany/assist them while on site providing support to ensure installation deadlines are met
Ensure adequate supplies of spares on site for commonly used parts or those with a long lead time.
Minor troubleshooting and maintenance of office equipment if required.
Ensure full and timely reporting of all significant problems or repair requirements

Hours:-

Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm one week, and Monday to Friday 12pm-8pm the following week, rotating.

The Suitable Candidate:-

Experienced Maintenance Engineer from a building services, facilities, site services background
Electrical skills / Electrical qualifications i.e. ideally 17th Edition
Apprenticeship or time-served in a relevant electrical qualification or equivalent
Basic plumbing skills
Understanding of Health and Safety Principles and legislation
Asbestos awareness
Ability to complete risk assessments
A working knowledge and understanding of COSH
IPAF licence an advantage
Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative
Ability to find faults and problem solve
Good communication skills essential
Willing to be flexible in terms of working hours and shift patterns - available for overtime
Self motivated and Computer Literate
