Our client are a market leader in the manufacture of building products and they now have a requirement for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer. The ideal candidate will join a team of Maintenance Fitters & Electricians responsible for the delivery of a responsive and effective engineering service to production and site operations.

Post: Full time and permanent
Hours: 38 hours per week/3 shift pattern 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am

Key tasks and responsibilities:

- Carrying out reactive and proactive maintenance to all site plant and equipment.
- Resolving equipment failures and carrying out planned and unplanned engineering tasks in a responsive and effective manner.
- Pro-active team working with peers, production, quality and support groups to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Repairing and maintaining equipment so as to provide best possible equipment availability for delivering production and business needs.
- Taking personal accountability for providing a responsive and effective service.
- Actively support engineering improvements and changes to maintain and enhance our competitive edge within the group of companies and business competitors.
- Respond to breakdowns, systematically fault find, and identify root cause and then implement solution to prevent recurrence.
- Carry out planned maintenance and identify continuous improvements to increase equipment efficiency.
- Work with production, support groups and suppliers to implement improvement opportunities to increase equipment efficiency and safety and reduce engineering downtime.
- Identify and implement improvements to equipment to increase process robustness and reliability

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate all or most of the following skills and experience:

- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship to minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- ONC/NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Post apprenticeship work experience as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of fault finding diagnostics.
- Experience of pneumatics, hydraulics and process control systems.
