Payroll (Sole Role) - International Business
Edward Mann are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist for a leading International Law Firm located in Central London.
Payroll processing including staff and partners
Manage and process the monthly payroll for employees, ensuring all payments and deductions are made accurately and according to HMRC and legislative requirements. This includes monthly RTI obligations and meeting all necessary deadlines.
Run data entry reports for all data entered in each payroll month before trial payroll run and subsequent BAC’s submission ensuring accuracy of all entries.
Make payment of any cash or cheque related items on the payroll that are due for submission to international bank accounts.
Distribute the monthly payslips to employees and respond to any questions or queries raised.
Prepare and calculate any manual payments as and when required, ensuring that entries are processed through the next payroll, that all costs are accounted for and that the employees’ YTD values are correct.
Work with Head of Finance, Europe on payment of monthly Partner drawings, profit distributions and personal deductions relating to benefits and personal invoices.
Month end reporting and payments:
Manage and process the month end payroll and associated benefits accounting process, ensuring that all schedules are prepared and make payments as necessary.
Prepare monthly reports for payroll entries for personal invoices, season tickets & other loans, cash flow for forthcoming payroll costs, net pay, HMRC and pension payments due, headcount etc. Distribute to finance colleagues and management as appropriate.
Prepare and update the cumulative salary data analysis and distribute to the relevant senior managers and US personnel.
Work closely with the Management Accountant to identify and resolve any outstanding items on the balance sheet accounts.
Reconcile the monthly payroll including the liabilities due to HMRC ensuring payment deadlines are met.
End of year accounting
Complete the final reconciliation of the payroll year-to-date values of all liabilities due to HMRC.
Prepare, produce and submit by the required deadlines all end-of-year documentation: P35 Employers Annual Return, P14 & P60 End of Year Summary, P11d Expenses & Benefits, P11d (b) Return of Class 1A liability on P11d items for local and Expat payrolls, PSA, Class 1A and Class 1B returns and ensure payment deadlines and liabilities are met.
Compile all the relevant data required to complete these processes in full, run nominal ledger reports, maintain and update spreadsheets on a monthly basis throughout the relevant tax year.
Involvement, with the Benefits Committee and the annual renewals process as required.
Manage the reconciliation of the renewals process in relation to financial activities between the provider and company records, arranging payment and the recharge of the benefits costs to the relevant general ledger cost
Ensure compliance and the administration of the processes for the salary sacrifice arrangements (pension, childcare vouchers and cycle scheme as well as deductions for charitable donations (GAYE)).
Undertake the administration for and reimbursement of the gym membership and mobile phone processes.
Manage and prepare the annual budgets for all salary, fringe benefits, and professional fees nominal accounts.
Reconcile all items and deal with any queries or questions raised regarding the values.
Non UK payroll:
Liaise with the US and external accountants PWC in relation to the gross up salary package at the start of the new financial year.
Make payment by BACS transfer of the net pay due and prepare manual payslips each calendar month.
Reconcile the monthly payroll including the liabilities due to HMRC. Ensure payment deadlines are met.
Austrian Payroll - Liaise with external Austrian accountants (PWC) in relation to the monthly, annual and related deductions and benefits.
