Our client is a very successful aerospace manufacturing engineering business in the heart of Warwickshire. They are looking for a Buyer to specialise in Supplier Quality to join their team in Coventry.

Purpose of the Job
• The role provides direct purchasing and supply chain support for all aspects of the supply chain activities, with a focus on Supplier Quality
• Strategic sourcing of machined and cast components
• Development of long lasting supplier relationships
• Ensures that supply chain procedures are in place, audited and compliant
• Focus on continuous improvement and reduce in waste

Responsible For
• Responsible for ensuring compliant purchasing of all components (production and indirect) via the SAP system as required to support the Coventry operation.
• Achievement of personal operational targets in line with the department and business objectives.
• Mentors and provides guidance and support to other supply chain members and internal departments to ensure understanding and compliance with supply chain processes.
• Ensures clear line of balance from new product introduction to full productions readiness, life cycle of the product.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
• Manages relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness targets are being achieved
• Conduct negotiations on contracts/agreements in line with business requirements
• Initiate cost reduction and/or inventory reduction optimisation activities with suppliers to meet planned performance targets
• Raising of orders from the business SAP system in line with demand signals to ensure all goods and services are supplied in accordance with customer requirements
• Proactively support supply chain continuous improvement activities
• Works with Buyers to ensure operational shortages are kept to a minimum, providing timely updates as required by other departments
• Manage smooth transition of NPI programs into production, preparing, maintaining and reporting Production Rate Readiness documents
• Actively supports the reporting requirements of the business, seeking alternative methods and improved efficient and accuracy
• Clear project focus, supporting the supply chain function at a strategic level to achieve objectives required to aid production of existing and new product development
• Any other tasks reasonable requested as required from time to time
