Our client based near Didcot is currently recruiting for a Venue and Sales Exec role.

The role will include

* identify, establish and build a pipeline of new opportunities with corporate customers and conference agencies by selling conferences Building successful relationships and confidence will be key in this role, being at hand to "meet and greet" the day of their event will be essential
* A creative mind is also required for producing advertisements for local press, flyers and also updating the website. You will be adept in securing new business for the hotel and will be responsible for promoting the facilities to prospective clients and upselling at every opportunity The position will involve a high level of telephone communication to obtain those vital leads
* To provide the highest possible levels of customer care and to sell the designated spaces and rooms.
* To maximise business volume by building customer loyalty through the successful delivery of events (repeat business) and by establishing and growing new opportunities through proactive selling.
* Developing the client base, publicise the venue to increase sales opportunities, including participating in relevant trade shows, conducting show rounds for clients/potential clients, and continuously researching new opportunities to promote the business and increase revenue.
* You will work hard and be positive in all you do and use your initiative in creating new ideas and solutions. You will turn each challenge into a positive result.

Key Responsibilities

Develop relationships with key local corporate bookers and agencies

* Determine if enquiries are profitable and a good business mix for the relevant Venue
* Proactively identify and develop new business via cold calling and networking
* Deliver against revenue targets and within budgets Be proactive in dealing with all enquiries (telephone / email) to ensure that they are dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner.Ensure all future sales leads are followed up correctly and in a timely manner.
* Gain clear understanding of potential client's requirements to provide accurate and successful proposals.Mailing marketing material, menus and directing clients to the website and proactive follow-up of all information sent.
* Follow bookings from enquiry to confirmation ensuring all relevant information, including catering and AV, has been collected and that the event sheets are complete in good time.Meet clients on events and attend client events as necessary.and liaison.
* Attend client events, promotions, trade exhibitions, client entertainment evenings and sales events .
* Achieve and exceed sales targets on room hire, food and beverage, sundry items.

Financial Contribution

* To ensure a standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene.
* To ensure that you adhere to legal and company requirements in respect of Hygiene, Health & Safety, Employment Law, Food Safety Law for all staff, visitors and customers.
* complete weekly sales calls to the sales database, as agreed with the Sales Manager, in order to increase awareness of the venue and increase revenue opportunities


* Working with the sales team to plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales, especially managing personal time and productivity.

Sales & Marketing

* Providing data to the Sales Manager for effective reporting e.g monthly show round conversions, collating customer feedback, up to date revenue etc.


* Manage and record customer or client complaints or compliments.
* To strive to continually exceed customer expectations and provide excellent customer care.
* Organising and carry out 'show rounds' of meeting rooms to potential clients wherever possible.
* Work towards the conversion of all sales leads to confirmed bookings and repeat business.

Experience essential

* Experience within the Conferencing, Event Management or Corporate Hospitality industries and a good understanding of the requirements of Corporate Customers
* Significant track record of new business and Account Management focused sales within a regional role
* Relationship Management: Strong relationship building and relationship management skills at all levels of an organisation
