An International known business who is growing at an amazing speed with revenues over £30 billion across multiple offices worldwide is seeking Calibration Engineer based in Birmingham to join its expanding engineering team. These roles are newly created positions and the company is looking for a minimum of 5 new staff to take on over the coming months.

This company is an innovative company who are working the automotive sector and supply to major car retailers across the globe.

As the Calibration Engineer your duties will be:

- To perform in-vehicle clutch control calibration for automatic and hybrid transmissions suitable for mass production
- Assessing shift control strategies (clutch pressure and engine torque controls) to ensure shift quality targets and functionality are met
- Commissioning of vehicles, including over-checks, electrical interface-checks
- Validation of transmission software functionalities and documenting the process
- Collecting data to determine the root cause of any shift quality and diagnostic issue
- To play an active role in meetings between development departments in UK / Oversees
- To be responsible for ensuring all tooling, diagnostic equipment, IT equipment, company clothing and company vehicle supplied are maintained in accordance with correct maintenance schedules and policies and procedures.

To be a successful Calibration Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:

- Technical qualification (HNC or above) in electrical / mechanical / equivalent experience
- Understanding principles of electronically controlled automotive systems
- Strong understanding of automatic transmission operating principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Technical understanding of Powertrain and Transmission systems
- Driving licence for passenger cars
- Experience of Etas INCA is advantageous
- CAN based development tools (Vector, Etas)
- The position also requires travel within the UK, and to Germany and the USA. There will also be occasional extended working hours should the business need arise.

In return, the Calibration Engineer will receive a salary of £35,000 - £55,000 per annum plus many benefits including flexi time.
