Further to business growth & structural change, we have been retained by our client to resource an established General Manager with good manufacturing & assembly experience & skills. An exceptional remuneration package is on offer. Expiry: 01/08/17

Job Overview:
As General Manager you will be responsible for the effective management of all site related activities and services. You will achieve high customer service levels by meeting quality, delivery and cost objectives. As General Manager you will participate in all site leadership activities e.g. production flow, planning, ERP, 5s, etc. You will work with your team to support growth initiatives by launching new products on time. You will either be in a General Manager post or from a similar senior & responsible role, or even looking to take this next Management step. YOU MUST have experience of product manufacturing & assembly, and the product must be a technical product with either applications relating to Switchgear or mechanical or electrical or electro-mechanical. Experience within assembly is highly recommended, as well as clear English communication skills. A great General Manager post.

Further responsibilities:
• To develop Lean initiative & CI practices in order to drive productivity and eliminate waste
• To ensure people and resources are matched via the Sales & Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) to meet customer requirements.
• To drive the resolution of production quality issues ensuring follow through to a permanent fix.
• To promote a safe working environment and ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with current HSE legislation.
• To develop the high performance work organisation and establish a coherent team to achieve consistency in all areas.
• To increase employee skills and opportunities through training & development.
• Scope of Position
• Provide leadership & direction to the Management Team.
• Overall responsibility for the whole site.
• Establish and maintain KPI’s for the whole site.
• Report to the MD monthly with KPI information which includes budgetary control, sales forecasts, H&S issues, staffing levels, projects, profit & loss predictions, quality, etc.

Key Success Factors
• Development of teamwork synergies.
• Ability to react quickly to changes which will affect KPI targets.
• Management of NPI’s to maximise return and minimise delays.

• PC Literate

Experience/Education Required
• Significant experience in a senior management role for at least 5 years.
• Familiarity with a low and high volume production would be an advantage.
• Candidates should also be fully aware of Lean Manufacturing methodology and trained in Six Sigma principles.
• Good engineering / manufacturing / commercial qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred, or Production/Management related
