Full Time
Are you fed-up that you're not able to take responsibility? Do you feel isolated and not part of a team? Are you frustrated that you're not able to support other areas of a business? If this sounds familiar, then this role could be for you.

As Payroll & Finance Assistant, you will have sole responsibility for payroll, working alongside HR, but you will also work as part of the Finance department. Both areas have small, friendly and outgoing teams, which are part of large and highly successful business. Everyone who works for the business is passionate and you'll share their energy and enthusiasm. You will work an open plan office and enjoy a busy and varied workload, which will involve around half of your time dealing with payroll and half of your time assisting with purchase ledger and accounting tasks. The business is well located within easy access of the A1 and commutable from all surrounding areas of Northallerton, Bedale, Darlington, North Yorkshire and Teesside.

You will be responsible for collating weekly clock-card information and uploading information via Excel into the payroll system. You will help to support managers and supervisors to ensure payroll information is accurate and you will liaise with them to resolve any queries, so you'll have the opportunity to work outside of the HR & Finance department. You will also play a key role when the new Time & Attendance system is rolled out across the business, which will help to improve payroll efficiency and reporting accuracy. You will manage payroll from start to finish, so you should be comfortable with all aspects of payroll and payroll reporting. You will also assist the Finance department with processing purchase (supplier) invoices, reconciling statements and producing some weekly performance reports. You'll have previous experience of accounts payable (purchase ledger) and you will be comfortable using Excel. You don't have to be an Excel-wiz as the reports are already setup but you won't fear using Excel. You'll be comfortable at this level and whilst you may, in time, look to take on more responsibility, you won't be looking to take on the world as this role wouldn't suit someone who is extremely ambitious.

If you want to work as part of a great team, in a successful business and enjoy dealing with both payroll and accounts, then please call me, Paul Card, today on (Apply online only) for an informal chat. Alternatively, click 'Apply'.

Everyone will receive a response.
