Aurora Resourcing are currently recruiting on behalf of an IFA in the Edinburgh. We are looking for a passionate an Area Manager to join on a Permanent basis.

The role:

-Recruit, select and ensure the supervision and performance reviews and PDP’s of social work and outreach staff are carried out

-Responsible and proactive for public relations and liaising with purchasing authorities and CSCI/CSCIW.

-Ensure training programmes are developed and delivered for foster carers, staff and other professionals as appropriate.

-Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant child care legislation, regulations and guidance for fostering.

-Ensure that the fostering provision meet policy and all other operational policies, procedures and standards

-Ensure appropriate social work, outreach, out of hours and administrative cover arrangements and allocations of work are in place.

-Be aware of child protection procedures and immediately report any child protection matter or concerns and complaints to the Service Manager or a Senior Manager, the relevant placing authority and the area authority.

-Maintain and provide statistical information on placements, referral and other relevant information.

-Manage day-to-day accommodation matters in conjunction with the Service Manager.

-Monitor targets and manage day-to-day financial planning within the context of agreed budgets.

-Carry out a quality assurance role in relation to case files, Form F assessments and reviews and to contribute to improvements in the fostering service identified by CSCI inspections.

The Candidate:

-Level 4 Management or above

-HCPC membership.

-Commitment to develop services and be innovative and creative in the development of the service.

-A good working knowledge of relevant legislation including:- Children’s Act 1989 and related regulations and guidance such as Working Together; Every Child Matters, Framework For Children In Need; Care Standards Act 2000; Adoption Law; Understanding of the role of children’s social workers; knowledge of the role of other agencies in particular, health and education; knowledge of the growth and development of children.

This role will pay a salary of up to £55,000 + additional benefits
