Bookkeeper (Part-Time): An experienced Bookkeeper is required to maintain accounting records and a good system of internal control. As Bookkeeper, you will support the Financial Controller at this award-winning think tank and advisory firm, enabling businesses to lead the way to a sustainable economy.

Required for 3 days per week the ideal Bookkeeper will efficiently and accurately oversee a variety of tasks, from sales and purchase ledger to payroll.

Responsibilities:
*Purchase Ledger control including company expenses
*Code and process all purchase ledger items and expenses prior to the weekly pay runs, checking that they have been authorised in advance and filing once complete
*Produce weekly payrun of invoices to be authorised for payment by the Financial Controller
*Process and analyse credit card statements
*Check the creditors report at the end of the month, to ensure it balances to the credit control account on the balance sheet, investigating any variances
*Raise sales ledger invoices and credit notes on QuickBase as requested - send for authorisation, process, send to the client and update sales ledger log.
*Check debtors report weekly, to ensure any outstanding invoices are flagged
*Invoice management to ensure cash flow is maximised
*Code up, process all expense claims and check an appropriate receipt is attached
*Prepare payroll reports to be sent to the external payroll company, making sure all changes are updated i.e. pension, childcare, season ticket, healthcare, cycle to work scheme etc.
*Pension reconciliation and update
*Process payroll, and arrange payment
*Assist the Financial Controller in preparing year-end accounts for the External Auditors

Skills and experience:
*Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA preferred)
*A minimum of two years work experience in a similar role
*Focused, organised and structured, able to juggle priorities
*Commercial experience of Xero
*Attention to detail, thoroughness, and strong sense of confidentiality
*Proven ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines
*An enthusiastic team player, with a positive, proactive attitude
*Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
*Alignment with the company's mission, vision and values (desirable)
