Our client is one of Yorkshire's largest independent firms of chartered accountants, auditors and advisors. Established over 160 years and with a team of over 100. The tailored service they provide their clients sets them apart as a leader in their field. As part of increased growth they are looking for a talented Business Support Advisor to join this talented team.

The Role

We are seeking an AAT qualified Bookkeeper with experience of preparing both management and year end accounts within an Accounts Practice to join this dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on client service, working to deadlines and have a good attention to detail. You will be required to work to time budgets and communicate directly with clients, as well as with the client manager internally.

Key Responsibilities

Interpreting, verifying and processing the information provided by clients

Processing transactions including:

* Purchase ledger
* Sales ledger
* Nominal ledger
* Payroll journals
* Bank posting and reconciliations
* Credit cards
* Petty cash

Reconciliation of:

* Bank accounts
* Credit cards
* PAYE/NIC and wages
* Petty cash

Calculation and Posting of:

* Depreciation from asset registers
* Accruals
* Prepayments and accrued income
* Preparation of VAT returns for submission to HMR&C
* Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
* Preparation of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies
* Completion of tax computations for year end accounts preparation assignments

Skills and Experience

* Fully AAT qualified or equivalent
* GCSE Maths and English, minimum C grade (or equivalent)
* Experience of working within an Accountancy Practice
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of VAT, including different VAT schemes
* Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
* Knowledge of major accounting software packages
* Ability to work as part of a team and alone
* Experience using Microsoft Office

The role will include regularly travelling to client premises, therefore it would be beneficial to hold a full driving licence and have your own transport.
