An exciting role working for a national charity. 

Our client is a national charity which supports people affected by imprisonment. They provide practical and emotional support to prisoners' children and families and to prisoners themselves. Our client offers support from courts to prisons through to resettlement and community work. 

Position: Bid Writer 
Location: Home based with the expectation to travel to the Central Office 1-2 days per week 
Contract type: Permanent, Full-time 
Hours: 37.5 per week 
Salary: £29,000 - £34,000

About the role: 

As Bid Writer you will support the client's Group in retaining and expanding the delivery and continued development of consistently high quality, cost-effective and responsive services, grounded in the charitable mission, vision and values. You will provide ongoing support for statutory tenders, grants and trusts across the Development Team (incorporating Business Development, Supporter Relations and Marketing and Communications) as well as contributing to large scale government grants and tenders and strategic/commercial partnerships. You will work closely with the Director of Services, Regional Heads of Service Delivery and Development, Finance and HR to develop successful tenders grounded in our client's Group’s service history. 

Working to the Head of Business and Development, you will be responsible for developing standardised PQQ and ITT responses and bespoke proposals that are well written and are delivered to a high professional standard, in line with Development Strategy; helping them achieve its ambitious growth plans to support thousands more prisoners to live crime-free lives, and the chance of a fresh start for their families. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will have a track record in writing compelling tenders, including appropriate supply chain content, where required, that secure contracts within the Criminal Justice System. Excellent communication skills are a must, as are the ability to work to tight deadlines, good financial literacy and the ability to think quickly. 
You will have a sound and up to date knowledge of the criminal justice market place and key players, as well as an understanding of commissioning and procurement processes and knowledge of the sources of information on potential new business. 

You may have experience of the following: Bid Manager, Charity. Tender Writer, NFP. Contracts Support, Tender Manager, Bid Administration, Business Development Manager, Bid Coordinator, Sales and Bid Co-ordinator, Business Development, Proposals Manager etc.
