An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Support Worker, to become a valued team leader at Outreach services for adults with learning and physical disabilities and mental health problems in Huddersfield. This is a fantastic opportunity, for a caring Senior Support Worker, who is either an existing senior support worker, or a support worker who has experience as an Acting Senior Support Worker, to reap the reward of providing an excellent level of care to individuals with learning and physical disabilities and mental health problems and support them to develop confidence and independence.

Senior Support Worker Role :

Supporting adults in outreach services with learning and physical disabilities and mental health problems to develop confidence and independence

Manage support workers and provide supervision

Lead shifts and motivate support workers
Devise and implement rotas
Provide support to service users with learning and physical disabilities and mental health problems with everyday tasks such as preparing and eating meals, attending appointments, shopping, budgeting etc.
To ensure person centred care is provided, care plans are followed and updated and CQC standards are met.
Encouraging service users with learning disabilities to partake in social and community events, attend college, attend sporting activities such as swimming, football, hobbies, day trips, short holidays, support in going to the cinema, theatre, meals in restaurants, pubs and social evenings etc

Skills / Qualifications :

Ideally have NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate with service users with learning disabilities and mental health problems, team members and other professionals such as social workers.
Ability to listen and motivate individuals to partake in hobbies, learning development and social events to help them lead fulfilling and independent lives.
Understanding of learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.
Supervisory experience - managing and training support workers
Supervision of support workers
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Passion to provide excellent standard of care and enjoy providing opportunities to enable service users with learning disabilities to develop confidence and fulfil their potential
