Based in Basildon, Essex - we are an independent Engineering company whom manufacture and provide testing equipment to the worldwide automotive industry, and supply our products into the OEM market within both the UK and Worldwide.

As part of the company expansion - and continued growth and success, we are currently looking for an Electrical Control Systems Design Engineer to work in the Electrical Hardware designs for our products. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the machine main power distribution, configuration of power distribution, configuration of servo drives, low voltage distribution, PLC input/output design, Safety PLC design and BOM for our Machinery / products.

Key Criteria:

A focus on the Electrical design of the machine - cabling, connectors, circuit breakers

Possesss an Engineering mindset - capable of power distribution calculations

Electrical calculations to size cabling

Be able to create and understand Electrical Schematics using AutoCAD

Working on several projects at any given time

Support some aspects of the installation process (Potential to travel to client sites occasionally)

Skills Required:
Have electrical component experience

Experience using AutoCAD and preferably E-Plan

Background ideally in Automotive, engineering, machinery or manufacturing industry

HNC/HND or above within Electrical engineering with some practical electrical knowledge

Ability to work on various bespoke projects

Have excellent communication skills and comfortable in communicating with all members of the business and at all levels.

Additional Information:

Core working times are 0.800 - 16.30 (Monday - Thursday) finish at 13.00 (Friday's)

Paid Overtime (if additional hours are required to complete the project work).
