The Company:
Our client is based in Wakefield and is one of the market leaders in their industry; their core business is the hire of specialist vehicles and powered access equipment in to sectors such as Telecommunications and Local Authorities, they have a large fleet of close to 600 vehicles and have been successfully trading for just short of ten years now; their continued success is largely due to their team of industry specialists, their knowledge of the sectors they supply in to and the ability to understand and deliver what their customers require, time and time again, without fail. The company can also boast rapid growth over the last couple of years and they fully intend to continue that growth, which is why this new position has become available and in turn may present opportunities for career advancement for the successful candidate.

Job Overview:
You will be responsible for the development of new business opportunities throughout the UK as well as managing relationships with existing customers, ensuring that all opportunities are explored through market research, route to market analysis and regular communications with contacts in specific target industries.

Duties:
• Cold calling to arrange face to face meetings to discuss service and delivery options
• Travelling the width and breath of the UK with effective diary management
• Researching specific target industries
• Understanding commercial and public tender processes
• Ensuring bids are entered accurately and on time to meet tender deadlines
• Ensuring new business contracts are profitable and financially viable
• Managing Accounts to optimise spend and repeat business

Requirements to Fulfil the Role:
• A stable background in B2B sales in the field
• Possess a full and ideally clean driving license
• Experience of selling the service of short/long-term hire of van-mounted access platforms would be preferred but not essential
• Experience of selling in to public sector organisations (e.g. street lighting) would be a distinct advantage
• Account Management experience
• Knowledge of Tendering Processes, both commercially and for Public Sector bids would be a distinct advantage
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK
• Must be confident and presentable and possess excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good IT skills, specifically use of the Internet for research purposes and Excel

Additional Info:
• 40 hours per week Monday - Friday
• 25 days holiday + Statutory Holidays
• Contributory Pension with immediate effect
• Commission paid per unit on hire, details to be discussed at interview stage
