Project Support Officer
Age UK are recruiting two Project Support Officer posts, one to support our digital programme and the second to support our warm homes programme.
The digital programme is a lottery funded national programme delivered by 5 organisations, of which Age UK is one. We have been awarded £4m over a 3 year period from the lottery to help people to develop basic digital skills. The 'test and learn’ initiative centres on a shared principle of 'Digital Champions’ - individuals who will engage people who are not online and provide them with personal long-term support.
The warm homes programme aims to support people to be able to stay warm and well in their homes. The programme consists of benefit entitlement sessions to maximise people’s income, and home energy checks to install energy efficiency equipment in order to reduce older people’s fuel bills.
To assist with the delivery of these programmes, we are seeking two proactive and efficient Project Support Officers to join the established team.
Project management skills including the ability to work flexibly and autonomously, managing individual projects to meet organisational objectives and achieve deadlines.
Experience of co-ordinating activities to ensure projects and work programmes are delivered on time.
Ability to present data and reports, including preparation of tables and graphs.
Experience of organising meetings and planning and delivering projects to agreed quality standards.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people from different levels and backgrounds.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners in order to meet objectives.
Capable of prioritising competing deadlines and workloads.
Understanding of the issues facing older people, particularly around digital exclusion and/or fuel poverty and excess winter deaths.
