JOB ROLE

As a retail Team Manager your role is for overseeing the retail store operations, Team Leader and Team Member development and overall store profitability. The Team Manager is responsible for delivering first class customer service, providing an amazing shopping environment through the sustained inspiration of your entire team. In this position you will lead and direct the retail store team to achieve all targets set for the store, ensuring consistent delivery of profit and the brand. You will represent our client in a positive, motivated and enthusiastic manner in line with their company core values. This is a superb opportunity to join a British retail giant in a high profile position and to assume responsibility for ensuring the success and profitability of a large turnover store.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Experience as a retail General Manager, Store Manager, Department Manager, Duty Manager or Deputy Manager within a fast paced, high volume retail high street or out of town brand.
  • This is an outstanding opportunity to progress your management skills and have autonomy over your own store with a leading retailer.
  • Experience in fresh foods would be preferable.
  • A passion for customer service and proven track record in managing and leading people, with experience of training and developing a store team through effective performance management is preferred.
  • You will be KPI driven; trading focused and have a strong understanding of market trends, customer needs and your competition.
  • You will be passionate, entrepreneurial in your style and be an engaging and motivated people manager.
  • Your leadership will be dynamic and you will understand hot operate in a business that gives you free autonomy to lead your store as if it was your own retail business.
REQUIRED SKILLS FROM CANDIDATES
  • Experience in a retail organization with strong focus / recognised as excellent in customer service
  • Knows what excellence in retail standards looks and feels like and is aware of any future trends
  • Understands how to interpret a detailed profit and loss statement
  • Has a history of decisive decision making for short/long term with examples of where the outcome has impacted on customer/profit/employee
  • Evidence of driving continual business improvements
  • Proven leadership skills through both good and bad trading times
  • Is known for their skill in developing future talent
  • Constantly and consistently drives their own personal development

Skills that would really benefit a candidate (though not essential)
  • Experience in both sales and back of house operations
  • History of working with local communities/business groups
  • Coach and Mentor to up and coming talent
  • Experience of buying, pricing, merchandising and inventory management
  • Involvement in projects with head office / external organizations
