Bistrot Pierre prepares, cooks and serves provincial French dishes using fresh and seasonal ingredients and regularly changing menus.

We currently have a portfolio of 18 restaurants nationally, with ambitious plans for expansion, creating plenty of opportunity for career progression for those who seek to continue to grow their skills and position within the company.

We are currently seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead the Middlesbrough front of house team in the absence of the General Manager. Our Middlesbrough restaurant will typically cater for a volume of anything from around 100 covers on a quiet weekday lunch service up to around 330 covers per service on a busy lunchtime, evening or weekend. The Assistant General Manager role is a fully hands on role during service, along with overall responsibility for the performance of the whole restaurant including the back of house while the General Manager is away. The Assistant General Manager takes on the full role of serving our customers while also being responsible for the supervision of the front of house team. The Assistant General Manager role is one that’s instrumental in achieving the company’s vision-‘great value, delicious cooking in a busy, buzzy atmosphere by a friendly and professional team enjoying themselves. This is a role that’s intense and very hands-on and will see you taking responsibility for assisting the General Manager in the running of the bistrot both financially, in terms of customer service and with regard to the overall product from freshly made and cooked dishes to running a scrupulously clean restaurant.

Cost management and meeting financial targets is a primary focus, nurturing a strong and competent team and working directly with the Front of House team and Head Chef in delivering delicious cooking which exceeds customer expectations are a must. You’ll be proven in a supervisory capacity in this area, be confident, engaging and have excellent inter-personal skills and leadership qualities
