Financial Analyst (Fluent Mandarin Speaking)

Based: London

Our client is a trader of Commodity and Energy products including, Oil, Gas, Power, LNG etc. based in Central London. The business continues to grow, and develop into exciting new products; offering new employees a very entrepreneurial, fast paced and changing environment to work in.

The role essentially requires a candidate with business/fluent Mandarin language skills and a very good understanding of Chinese business culture. The successful candidate will need to have relevant work based experience and knowledge of the oil and gas industry and the accounting rules associated with this industry.

Ideally the successful candidate will have a recognised accounting qualification (or actively studying towards qualification) with excellent Excel skills and experience with SAP would be advantageous.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with settlement and risk control to ensure correct booking of oil trading in SAP
  • Perform MIMA reconciliation of oil trading on monthly basis
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis needed for monthly/quarterly and annual closing
  • Prepare management reports to HQ (FMIS & other analysis)
  • Perform other analysis, ad hoc projects and duties as needed
  • Provide support to increase efficiency and effectiveness and processes and controls
  • Assist with the review of internal controls and procedures to improve efficiency and to streamline automation of manual processes.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • Partial or fully qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Finance, Accounts or equivalent
  • Experience of financial reporting and analysis in energy industry
  • Business/Fluent Mandarin is essential
  • Sufficient knowledge in both UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint) and SAP
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
