Network & Communications Specialist required to work within the Infrastructure Services team for a global professional services firm. The role exists to provide a reliable and consistent data and communications infrastructure for both existing and future business applications.

Candidates must have a demonstrable track record of the following technical skills encompassing network hardware equipment, software applications and communications to be considered:

- Experience in working with and supporting Cisco local area network (LAN) equipment (Nexus; 6500; 3750, 3650)
- Experience in working with and supporting Cisco routers (2900; 3900, ISR 4000, ASR 1000)
- Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols (EIGRP; BGP), along with existing types (VPLS; IPSEC tunnels)
- Cisco UCS - C and E Series
- Cisco wireless 5508, 2504, vWLC, Prime Infrastructure
- Cisco voice, including CUCM, IM&P, Unity Connection, ARC
- Cisco video conferencing systems (CMS/Acano, Expressway) and endpoints (IX, MX, SX, DX)

Experience with network security technologies and virtualisation technologies will be considered extremely beneficial.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

- Day-to-day management and development of the Firm's IT network and unified communications infrastructure, covering all hardware and software which provides the base on which all applications (both network and voice) operate.
- Responsibility for implementing appropriate security systems to provide protection against unauthorised access, viruses and other security breaches; the ongoing operation and preventative maintenance of the network and firewalls; plus performance monitoring
- To provide a technical expertise and knowledge within a specific field of expertise or across a nominated number of technical disciplines
- Continually monitoring developments in technology that may be of benefit to the business, enhance productivity, maintain competitiveness and provide value for money and encouraging their introduction to relevant business points

Our client requires someone with at least 3 years' experience in a similar role, who has certification in CCNP Routing & Switching and/or Collaboration and knowledge of working on mission critical systems within a distributed network environment.

Candidates must have strong communication and organisation skills as well as providing a strong customer service approach. You must have demonstrable experience of working closely with other teams within a technical environment, both to obtain knowledge and pass on calls for escalation to those teams with specific reference to attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
