My client, a local authority based in Hampshire is looking for a Building Surveyor of Public Buildings to join their team. This is a full time, temporary role for an ongoing contract.
The successful candidate will ideally be a member of RICS or will hold a qualification such as a BSc/HND.

The main purpose of this role is to contribute to the client's maintenance and improvement programme on Public Buildings.

Other responsibilities will include the following;

Contribute to the delivery of the revenue planned maintenance programme for the client's property portfolio.
Deliver allocated projects within the capital programme for maintenance/suitability improvements to the client's property portfolio.
Contribute to the delivery of reactive maintenance for the client's property portfolio.
Contribute to the rolling programme of condition surveys.
Contribute to the maintenance of the building condition data.
Liaise with stakeholders, occupiers and tenants regarding the client's repairs and maintenance programmes.
Input into property reviews regarding life cycle costings.
Input into property reviews regarding potential property use and costings.

To undertake inspections, condition and other appropriate surveys to identify the extent of repairs required for the preparation and maintenance of the client's planned maintenance programme.
To provide budget estimates, both capital and revenue for all planned and reactive maintenance, improvements, upgrades or alterations required for the preparation of the Capital Programme, Budget Strategy and the client's asset management plan.
To prepare specifications and tender documentation and where appropriate obtain quotations for works and services.
To evaluate tenders and quotations and recommend the appointment of suitable contractors and consultants.
Where appropriate raise purchase orders for the procurement of works and services.
To monitor the progress of works and services and to certify when works have been satisfactorily completed and to certify the payment of contractors/consultants invoices and fee accounts.
