Our client is looking for a Principal Building Surveyor to work in Blackburn.

This role is for a Principal Building Surveyor and they will be responsible for service delivery to a wide range of clients in designing solutions in the private, education and local authority sectors.

The successful candidate will be expected to;

Have responsibility for early stage design and feasibility work
Develop detailed briefs in conjunction with the client
Carry out detailed design work and prepare production information
Administer building contracts
Allocate resource accordingly
Manage and lead a growing team of Building Surveyors and Graduate
Undertake business development, including preparing & developing bid opportunities
Prepare fee proposals for new work
Attend management/business development meetings as required
Undertake all aspects of professional surveying work (including surveys, PW work, dilapidation's, DDA & FRA's)
Manage monthly fee targets to ensure these are achieved
AutoCAD Experience
Manage & build upon existing client relationships
Develop new pipeline of work establishing new client relationships

Essential Criteria:

MRICS Qualified
BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent
Line Management Responsibility for a small team of Building Surveyors
Business Development
Mentoring and Leading Graduate Surveyors
Minimum 5 years post qualification experience within Building surveying environment
Ability to establish a good working relationship with Clients and colleagues
Self motivated and able to work without supervision
Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
Good communication skills
Ability to demonstrate flexible approach to work

Desirable Criteria:

Experience in education, health and leisure projects
Experience in private and local authority sectors
Understanding of Academies Funding
Use of NBS Specification Manager, Excel, Word MS Project, AutoCAD, REVIT
