Science Solutions are currently recruiting for a Formulation Development Chemist for a North West based company who are leaders in their field, providing biocidal products to a range of industries. Due to continued success and further planned growth they are now looking to further expand their team.

Key responsibilities:

* Develop new Formulations and/or Technology for the Market which meet the Technical Brief
* Conduct work in accordance with documented safety procedures to minimise risk to health or injury.
* Define the Physio-Chemical elements of Product Specifications which are practical to apply, consistent with company Quality Policies, and if complied with guarantee product quality.
* Provide Technical Data that Support new product Claims
* Develop new Technology that results in new Patents
* Develop new Test Methods that when applied support new claims and/or demonstrate Compliance with regulatory/quality standards
* Review Labelling and Marketing materials to ensure they are appropriately supported and Comply with regulations.
* Provision of Traceable, documented records of the work conducted that can be used to support new patents, demonstrate compliance with regulations and be used in future by self or others to build on the work already conducted.
* Creation of New Business/Laboratory procedures that improve productivity, efficiency or safety of R&D work.
* Provision of insights (technical or otherwise) that lead to business benefits for the company

Knowledge and experience:

* BSc or higher in Chemistry or related subject

* Minimum 2 years' experience post BSc developing new formulations in the Biocides or adjacent industry such as Personal products, Cosmetics, Detergents or Pharmaceutical
* Knowledge of Technologies, Raw Materials and Suppliers that are relevant to at least two of the above industries (Interview)
* Knowledge and executional skills in preparing formulations across a range of product formats such as liquids, gels, powders, wipes, sprays/foams etc. (Interview)
* Knowledge and experience of attendance at, and supervision of Production Trials (Interview)
* Knowledge and executional skills in Physio-Chemical testing of samples, particularly Storage/Stability trials. (Interview)
* Executional Knowledge of regulations, namely to ensure formulations are compliant in both compositional terms and labelling (presentation and/or interview)
