The Role

* Provide an excellent standard of first and second line in-house support for business-critical applications
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal business users, other BA team members, and vendors of the application.
* Ensure business application (BA) service desk items are classified by type (bug, change, etc.) and recorded with appropriate details of the issue/request and steps to re-create the problem. Work toward resolving service desk items as quickly as possible.
* Escalate BA service desk items and liaise with 3rd party vendors when necessary.
* Answer 'How to' questions relating to applications.
* As time allows, provide training for staff on applications.
* Carry out password resets for systems.

Key Skills/Experience Required

* Experience within an IT function
* Experience of using Helpdesk Systems
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple calls
* Insurance experience would be an advantage but is not essential
* IT or Computing A-level or equivalent
* Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
* Knowledge of Macros/VBA would be an advantage
* Knowledge of SQL would be an advantage
* The following personal skills; teamwork, proactive individual, problem solver, communication and presentation, ability to work under pressure
