Job Purpose:

To provide skilled technical support to the NPD, Process and Quality functions by developing, approving and maintaining product specifications ensuring information contained is consistent with source data (e.g. Raw Material data, factory recipes/specs, etc.) and compliant with customer requirements, relevant legislation and Group policy.

Learn all aspects of admin function including admin tasks

Key Accountabilities:

Specification Development and Approval

Develop, approve and maintain finished product specifications for all products supplied by Spalding Bakery. This will include:

* Completing specifications in accordance with customer protocols ensuring data provided is accurate, valid, and compliant with customer requirements and relevant legislation and Group policy.
* Ensure that all data and/or claims that are linked, attached or associated with product specifications can be supported and are validated against customer requirements, legislation, group policy or third party protocols
* Receive, evaluate and action as appropriate requests to amend/update specifications ensuring effective and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders

Generate Legal Pack copy

* Generate technical information required for product packaging (Primary and Secondary) ensuring compliance with customer requirements, relevant legislation and Group policy.

Artwork Approval (covering primary and secondary packaging)

* Working with all relevant stakeholders (eg. design houses, customers, internal and external commercial teams, printers etc.) to ensure packaging artwork designs are compliant with legal / customer technical requirements.

Raw Material Specifications

Ensure that Raw Material Specifications are risk assessed from a Food Safety perspective and technically approved prior to being introduced to the manufacturing environment.

* Ensure that Raw Material specifications are obtained, reviewed and approved in accordance with Technical/Legal/Customer requirements.
* Risk assess raw materials and packaging from a Food safety perspective ensuring that risks are identified and communicated to the appropriate functions.
* Support maintenance of factory documentation and systems with information from new / updated raw material specifications.

Continuous Improvement

* Continuously improve standards set by supporting, facilitating and executing Practical Problem Solving and other appropriate methodologies within the Technical function and other functions where appropriate.
* Work to meet and exceed site and departmental KPI's

Communication and Knowledge Sharing

* Support and attend Meeting Structures as appropriate to facilitate effective communication, knowledge sharing, decision making and agree actions.
* Support the NPD Function during Design/Development stages to help shape ideas and proposals by providing technical challenge and guidance regarding customer and regulatory requirements.
* Provide timely and accurate information and status updates as required.
* Provide support to the wider Technical team where required.
