Principal Technology Lead – Medical Devices

*12 Month Contract

A superb opportunity for a Principal Technology Lead has arisen within the team of our client – a major pharmaceutical company that supplies its extensive range of products to the NHS and wider global healthcare network. This role is based on a full time 12 month contract.

The primary function of this role is to manage a portfolio of multiple medical device projects. You will oversee the full product lifecycle – from design concept through to manufacturing – and will utilise your exceptional project management skills to do so. This is a multi-faceted role which encompasses design, project management and regulatory affairs and further responsibilities of your role as Principal Technology Lead will include:
*Oversee the design and development of medical devices
*Ensure device developers and suppliers adhere to quality standards
*Identify improvements and adaptations to existing devices
*Oversee the generation of 3D design and 2D detailed design
*Generate device and equipment ideas and concepts
*Prepare product presentations
*Manage the design and build of product prototypes using CAD and rapid prototyping tools
*Keep abreast of competitor products and technology / market trends
*Review detailed design for assembly and manufacture of product

The Requirements
*Willing to travel globally, up to 50% of the time
*Understanding of device development and manufacturing processes
*Significant track record in management of Medical Device and Combination Product Development
*Proficiency in use of project management tools, excel and 3D CAD Design Tools and design detailing
*In depth knowledge (through practical experience) of GMP, EU and FDA regulatory requirements
*Understanding of device and drug / device combination regulatory requirements
