Nursery Room Leader

Prospero are currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity to join a fun and dynamic nursery team in Swindon. We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to run the Baby Room (Under Twos) and also be Assistant Deputy Manager for the Nursery.

The role will ideally be 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) but there is flexibility for part time hours and/or shorter shifts. Nursery opening hours are 8am - 6pm.

Your role as a Nursery Room Leader will include:

* Assisting the nursery team in providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop children in our care
* Supervising staff and students in training and maintain a proactive and professional team
* Ensuring all daily routines are adhered to and records kept up to date and assessments/evaluations are regularly completed
* Planning and carrying out activities in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, Setting the Standards for Learning, Development and Care for children from birth to five, ensuring they meet with the Early Learning Goals
* Overseeing and ensuring an effective key worker system
* Liaising with other Room Leaders to provide a smooth transition for children
* Organising and attending meetings
* Demonstrating a passion for the learning and education of children under 2.

In order to be successful in this Nursery Room Leader position, you must have the following:

* Good communication skills with children, parents and colleagues are required as well as the ability to work in and lead a thriving team (previous management experience desired but not essential)
* Applicants must have a good level of education and at least a Level 3 childcare qualification.
* Experience of working in an early years setting, ideally with under twos, is required, as well as experience of leadership and management
* Passionate and confident about working in childcare in such a way that engages and stimulates children
* Valid UK DBS dated within the last year or be willing to undertake one.
* 2 professional references (1 must be from a childcare environment)
