Job Title: Group Payroll Manager

Salary: to £45,000 plus 15% company related bonus

Our client is an established accountancy practice, they are looking to recruit a Group Payroll Manager for a permanent position in Cheshire

This is a key position for their business. You will take responsibility for ensuring all payroll teams across the group of companies are compliant with Payroll legislation. You will ensure operations managers and payroll team managers have effective plans to adhere to changing legislation and will deliver training on technical payroll topics on an ad hoc basis.

This position does not involve man management

Skills Required

Duties will include

You will have oversight to ensure all HMRC deadlines are met by all payroll teams
Required to carry about internal audits to ensure key processes and procedures are adhered to
Required to carry out risk reviews on payroll teams to minimise business risks
Support operations and team managers with technical queries and advice
Support the learning and development function to deliver technical payroll training as required
Report to the group compliance manager on payroll performance and risk
Deliver periodic reviews on upcoming legislation change and support operations managers with change planning
Review payroll systems to ensure they remain fit for purpose
Support payroll software testing to ensure compliance is maintained
Take ownership of Pension schemes and ensure enrolment processes are compliant
Any other duties that are deemed necessary to support the business

You will be reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager with no direct reports. You will be required to effectively manage relationships with all levels of staff through the Company and have the ability to influence strategic decision making and business processes.

Qualifications Required

About you:

5+ years as a Payroll Manager
Experience of managing large payrolls (5000 + employee)
Previous experience of managing auto enrolment
Payroll Management Degree

Worked with a group of companies
Compliance experience
Use of ISO 90001
Career background in an Accounts practice, recruitment industry or outsourced payroll
