Lead project Engineer for the development and integration of complex automotive \ adjacent market embedded systems. Required to provide technical leadership to define and develop solution architecture and deploy expertise and experience to guide software development activity through the adoption of current automotive technologies such as AUTOSAR. Assist in developing method and process to address an increasing focus on functional safety according to emerging industry standards.

1. You will provide technical leadership and insight to client team in embedded system development and integration. This will involve working across technical specialisms, adopting / and or establishing new processes and acting as a primary point of contact for your specialist area

2. You will provide guidance and expertise to drive the architecture of the designed system to accommodate the requirements of new architectural drivers, e.g. Adoption of AUTOSAR.

3. You may be required to task engineers and provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced engineers with in your area of expertise.

Knowledge / Experience

1. You will need substantive experience and knowledge in the area of embedded system development, preferable with professional experience of developing within

* Traditional "hand coded" development within safety related applications

* Model based auto coded development within safety related applications

* Hybrid development (combination of above)

2. You will have configuration managed complex developments comprising multiple features with multiple developers delivering multiple variants simultaneously

3. You will have substantial exposure to a collection of the following domains

* diesel engine control systems,

*off-highway machine controls

* marine control systems

* military vehicle control systems

* other safety related automotive controls systems

4. Demonstrable professional experience with some or all of the following

*C programming language

* Static analysis methods and tools (e.g. QAC, LINT)

* Configuration tools (GIT, clearcase)

* Complex build environments,

* Mathworks tools (Matlab, Simulink, RealTime Workshop)

* AUTOSAR and associated Vector toolset (DaVinci)

5. Experience working with a range of communication systems (CAN, Ethernet, Lin, Flexray).

6. Knowledge of On board - Off Board Diagnostics and associated protocols (J1939, UDS etc.)

7. A practical and pragmatic understanding of ISO26262 or other functional safety standards and the impact and influence they have on system & software development practise.

8. Knowledge of traditional and contemporary development processes (waterfall, v-model, agile) would be valuable
