Future Education are recruiting for an outstanding English Teacher, for a thriving Catholic School based in the affluent London Borough of Sutton. The school thrives in a culture of success and achievement along their ASPIRE ethos. This is a 1 year term fixed-term contract to start in September with a view of permanency for September 2018.
The English Department has a well-rounded curriculum which covers a range of text types across all year groups; including text from different cultural, social and historical backgrounds as well as a selection of print and moving image media. Students are encouraged to start reading more widely and independently from Year 7 with dedicated library lessons once a fortnight using the Accelerated Reader scheme. This contributes to their wider literacy skills in other subject areas. There is also a range of popular extra-curricular activities run by the English department such as the Poet Laureate Award, Challenge Days, Writing Competitions, theatre trips.
A successful candidate will be a well-qualified teacher of English who can teach English Language and English Literature confidently up to Key Stage 5. You will be working in a well-resourced department with a highly supportive team. You will need to have the passion, commitment and dedication to prepare and delivering highly engaging lessons, enhancing the learning experience of the students and helping them achieve outstanding results. All applicants must have:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
- The ability to teach English
- A valid enhanced DBS
- Outstanding references

Salary will be paid to scale MPS / UPS, there is also a TLR available for a suitable candidate.
