Your new role
You will be responsible for maintaining the school's Single Central Register for all staff, governors' volunteers and others as required by ISI regulations. Processing of DBS applications, obtaining necessary identification documents, collating and sending to Brighton College for signature. Completing prohibition checks for all those involved in teaching and management checks where required. Preparing staff contract change and salary change letters. Ensuring personnel records are maintained to meet compliance regulations. Providing administrative support for meetings including the Health and Safety Committee, and Education Sub Committee as required, preparing relevant letters and taking accurate comprehensive minutes. Completion of annual census returns, for Department for Education and ISC. Drafting correspondence, predominately non-standard documents, as requested by the Bursar or Estates Manger.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a positive can do attitude and the willingness to use your own initiative on top of excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills. Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills are required as well as a confident and friendly telephone manner. Flexibility and the ability to work with children is essential as well as the capability to work within a team. A willingness to develop yourself personally and professionally as well as a good sense of humour is also required.
