Assistant Project Manager, Exeter, Utility Company, Permanent

Your new company

A large South West employer who provide utility services to much of the region. Established more than 25 years ago they are now seeking to employ a full time, permanent Project Manager to join their busy Exeter office.

Your new role

  • Assume day to day responsibility for the successful completion of projects from brief received from strategic client to take-over by operations
  • Support the relevant Project Manager with the management and delivery of capital projects
  • Help develop the culture and ethos of the delivery team to facilitate the most efficient delivery of the Capital Programme
  • Deliver a range of project packages across the company's assets
  • Ensure project inputs are met
  • Setting up and leading project teams to deliver projects in specific areas of the programme based upon projects from the Strategic Client
  • Act as the link between designers (who may be designers within construction partners or design consultants) and the construction organisation physically carrying out work
  • Hold progress and liaison meetings with Partners, Stakeholders and service providers, including attending public meetings
  • Where any public relations interfaces are identified, manage all aspects and keep the relevant Project Manager advised of any development which could impact on the company

What you'll need to succeed

  • HNC in Civil or M&E Engineering
  • Robust construction contract management experience from tendering to final account
  • Experienced with and a strong commitment to health & safety including promoting a culture of awareness within the team
  • Familiarity in preparation of monthly financial reports for projects
  • Ability to lead and work in a team
  • Ability to multi task and manage numerous priorities in a pressured environment
  • Maintaining an up-to-date high level understanding of the technical requirements related to the delivery of the services
