This position offers MPS and UPS and can either be through the agency or on a permanent basis (depending on your preference)

The English Department is a large one with 15 specialist, energetic and enthusiastic staff. They believe that there role is to guide each student to develop her Reading and Writing, Speaking and Listening skills to the highest potential and to help her to develop as an independent, thinking and questioning learner.

You will be required to teach at least up to key stage 4 however there are opportunities to teach A Level if you wish.

The extra-curricular activities for the lower key stages include a Reading Group and a Debating Society.  Students are encourage to enter writing competitions as well as an internal Poetry by Heart Competition. Because the students respond well to visiting writers, publishers often offer us author visits. It is always interesting for students to hear from new writers so we take advantage of this as far as possible.

Outings to various theatre productions are arranged including an annual visit to the Globe theatre, with tickets sponsored by Deutsche Bank for all Year 8 students.

you will be required to teach English Language and English Literature AQA 8700/8702 and ensure all your lessons are planned, prepared and assessed to a outstanding level. 

The Ideal candidate will have:

Experience teaching English Literature and Language within the UK/USA/Australia or New Zealand
Be able to teach the English AQA to at  least key stage 3 and 4 (7-11 years)
Be able to start in September 2017
Able to provide references for the last two years of your working history
