Based near Horsham, this high quality Ofsted registered home offering residential childcare provides a genuine commitment to supporting the emotional, social and physical development of adolescent boys, who engage in a number of activities including sports and on site national curriculum and vocational qualifications within an educational /school setting.
The home is set in beautiful countryside close to the Sussex/Surrey border. Activities include an onsite floodlit sports area for basketball, football and tennis as well as a games room for pool, table tennis and air hockey. There is also an arts and craft studio and a fully equipped gym which is available for the boys to use outside of school hours with the support of care staff. There is also strong emphasis on outdoor learning to make the most of the surrounding country side this includes camping, bush craft and survival skills courses alongside a vast range of high octane pursuits such as quad biking and abseiling.
As House Manager you will develop and further enhance the care provided to boys aged 11-18 years, with emotional and behavioural difficulties. On a day to day basis you will be accountable and responsible for the management of the care provided in one of the houses. Care and Education work collaboratively to provide a holistic model which enables the young people to achieve.
You will manage a team, delivering consistent residential childcare practice in a safe environment where the young people can develop and flourish. A QCF/NVQ 3 is essential (in Children and Young People); a QCF/NVQ 4 would be an additional bonus. You will also have sound, proven knowledge and experience of working with young people in a residential care setting at supervisory, management level to enable you to report in effectively to the Registered Manager of the overall service.
