£48, 396 - £55,644 per annum for 36 hours per week based at either our Leatherhead Office - Fairmount House, Bull hill, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 7AH or at our Woking Office - Quadrant Court, Guildford Road, Woking GU22 7QQ.

About the Role

About the Role

To lead, review and support the work of teams providing services to children, young people and their parents/ carers with an emphasis on understanding and learning from their experience. The postholder will be required to provide regular reports detailing the impact and learning of the teams work. This is a unique role, whose focus will be to understand and learn from families what it is like to receive a service from Surrey County Council and identify when and where a service can be improved.

Quality and Experience, Commissioning and Prevention

This is a new role, part of the newly created Commissioning and Prevention service. The Quality and Experience teams work with Market Strategy and Insight and Innovation staff creating the commissioning function within the Childrens Schools and Families directorate. The focus of this team is knowing and understanding the quality of our practice. This will support a real understanding of the impact of our services, the outcomes for children, young people and families will help to inform our commissioning decisions. Staff will work with colleagues across the directorate to provide an independent view of our work and the resulting outcomes for children, young people and families including understanding their experience of our services. Quality and experience will also take the lead for directorate wide inspection planning and preparation and will retain key areas of improvement work.

Work context of the Service Manager Role

The postholder will be responsible for participation across the Youth Support Service and Childrens Services as well as information support and advice services to parents of and children identified as needing SEND support. The postholder will be able to influence and support challenge and change. The postholder will see their role as ensuring the voice of the user is heard and acted upon.
