What your role will be

As an Assistant Project Worker within this supported housing service, you will work with others in your team to ensure that the service users within the project, adults with learning disabilities, receive the guidance and support agreed by the project relating to benefits, repairs employment and other agreed support and provide assistance with sustaining their tenancies. 

You will work closely with your colleagues at the service including the Team Leader to support the delivery of a person-centred service, accurately recording information and ensuring the safety of residents at all times.  

This is a fixed term role to cover the current post-holder’s period of maternity leave therefore we expect it to last a minimum of 9 months.

You will work 18.12 hours split across Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. We can offer you a degree of flexibility on the days and the hours that York which can be discussed further at interview stage.

This post is subject to a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Your background

To be considered for this role you must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to accurately record information. You will have knowledge experience of support planning and carrying out risk assessments.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities in a team working environment and ideally experience of working with individuals with Autism or an understanding of the challenges for the individual and support needs around Autism.  

Candidates who possess some knowledge of housing management, benefits and welfare is particularly advantageous.
