Job Title - Process Development Technologist

Our client is a diverse manufacturer of FMCG goods, with multiple UK sites as part of their truly successful business. This is an exciting time for a Process Development Technologist to join them as they continue their journey towards being a LEAN enterprise, delivering customers with perfect quality products at the right time and place whilst minimising losses and maximising efficiency. This is a full time and permanent role for a Process Development Technologist based in the Spalding area. You will receive a basic salary of £30,000 with an excellent benefits package and unrivalled career prospects.

The Person

You will ensure factory trials are planned and carried out to the critical path schedule using a standardised approach whilst also ensuring that outcomes are effectively captured and communicated to relevant stakeholder groups.

You strive in your ability to take on a wide variety of tasks & responsibilities - possessing the necessary qualities to be able to demonstrate proven experience gained through working in an FMCG/ Manufacturing environment. You will ensure all paperwork completed and filed for all aspects of product trial process, to provide due diligence. You will host and support customer pre-productions and prepare and present information for customer and enforcement audits

You will be an excellent communicator, be passionate about food and a motivational leader. You will be a Self-Starter, be enthusiastic from the minute you step through the door and be extremely methodical and have a strong attention to detail.

You should be confident in your ability with a flexible and adaptable attitude to work, you will strive with your colleagues in the team to provide the maximum availability and efficiency of our clients services.

The Role

The Key Accountabilities of a successful Process Development Technologist will include:


* Review and assessment of samples for nutritional, shelf life (micro and organoleptic) in line with Retailer requirements.
* Assessment of samples against kitchen samples to ensure match.
* Present samples to customers and build relationships.
* NPD to be involved in all stages of product sampling.
* Build QAS and present to customer

Factory Trials

* Build customer relationships
* Working closely with NPD, Planning, Supply Chain and Operations to effectively plan and communicate factory trials.
* Facilitate a seamless product transition from NPD to operations.
* Ensure repeatability of new processes, and consistency of new raw materials.
* Work with PT and TPT to ensure all elements of product and process are assessed.
* Assure trial samples are frozen for reference

Problem Solving

* Problem solving of process issues; planning new trials to test solutions, whilst making sure the product stays as close to the original standard as possible; NPD to be appraised of any changes.
* Support operations with any challenges post-launch
* Support operations with process issues when necessary

The Package

The successful Process Development Technologist will be joining a fantastic Engineering team. You will receive a basic salary of £29,000 and will be given the opportunity to drive your career forward and achieve your full potential.
