One of my biggest clients is currently seeking a Design Manager to work on a £50m leisure centre project in East London. Have full control of design and work alongside the delivery and commercial teams!

This is a family owned company and that culture is driven throughout. They deliver projects to an excellent level of quality and high standard. They are experts within their field. As a company they are known for large scale commercial and mixed use developments and have a turnover not far of £1bn.

Key responsibilities:

* Understanding client requirements/output specs
* Design output review, meeting key compliance criteria with client specifications
* Manage design transfer from pre-construction to construction
* Ensure design, procurement and construction information complies with project documentation
* Supporting the Procurement and Commercial teams
* Monthly reporting to directors
* Defining consultant valuations and authorisation of payments
* Defining designer's objectives: program, deliverable, ratios

Key requirements:

* Design, engineering or construction qualifications preferred
* Planning process and building regulations knowledge
* Previous experience on projects from start to finish
* Excellent all round technical knowledge
* Architectural or structural background
* Previous experience with a Main Contractor or Developer
* Understanding the RIBA plan of work
* Excellent presentation, communication, management, negotiation skills
