Are you fed up with the lack of permanent, full-time social care jobs? Maybe you are a Teaching Assistant, or a Support Worker looking to change specialism?

We are currently looking for compassionate individuals, with a background either working with adults with learning disabilities, or personal experience supporting somebody with an SEN statement, to join our vibrant further education college in Corbridge. The college provides specialist support for young adults between 16-25 years of age who may have a learning disability, Autistic Spectrum Disorder or complex need. This may be through respite, day studying or full-residential support at the college.

These are full-time, permanent Support Worker vacancies where you have the opportunity to make a real difference and support a 16-25 year old to fulfil their academic goals and potential. On a daily basis you will be working alongside our students assisting them with their individual learning programme; this could be focussed on life skills, achieving a vocational/academic qualification, or preparing for independent living.

This school has been rated 'Good' by both Ofsted and CQC and achieves fantastic outcomes which you can be part of working towards (such as 80% of our residential students go on to independent/supported living!).

For your commitment and loyalty, we will reward you with the below benefits:

Benefits to you:
- the opportunity to support a young adult to achieve their goals and potential, setting them up for an independent future
- specialist training & induction programme
- long day shift pattern, giving you more consistent days at work and more free time at home

- Supporting young adults to access a high quality education, tailored to their unique abilities and best learning style
- Working closely to develop the personal, social, communication and life skills of our students
- Working with other professionals on site
- Working in a way that is conscientious, ethical and to a high-standard, meeting all policies and procedures at the college

- Applicants must be aged 21 or over
- Professional or personal experience of supporting somebody with a learning disability
- Able to work long days and sleeps
- Able to commute to Corbridge reliably
- A positive attitude, open mind and nurturing personality
