Service Manager / Home Manager Type of Service: Nursing home - Dementia / Elderly and Mental HealthSalary: £50,000 per annum + Extensive BenefitsLocation:SeahamWe are currently recruiting for an exciting new opportunity based within a lovely spacious home with beautiful grounds in Seham, Durham. We are looking for an experienced Service Manager / Home Manager to take the lead within this home which provides expert care for elderly residents who have dementia.This home is dedicated to providing a range of services, activities and facilities to ensure a stable and supportive environment for residents to live happy, fulfilling lives with as much independence as possible. Each resident is treated as an individual and care programmes are tailored to each person's needs. Staff morale is very high and the home has achieved a good reputation in the community.Responsibilities:As the Service Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing a staff team and inspire them to create a therapeutic, homely atmosphere which addresses the residents' health and wellbeing. You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home. You will be accountable for the operation and financial control of the service working to budget and profit and loss accounts. You will be involved in the proactive management planning, along with recruiting, induction, supervision of staff team along with on-call duty management.This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a reputable nationwide healthcare company who invest in their staff and promote from within to aid your career progression and personal development.Person Specification:We are looking for someone who is flexible, approachable, motivated and personable to fill this Service Manager role.You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the following:
* Minimum 2 years experience in an older people care environment* Experience of a person centered approach to deliver positive outcomes for the people we support* Demonstrable management experience* Experience of developing a service* A desire and commitment to deliver a quality service to the people we support* Flexible and adaptable with an ability to problem solve* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* RGN / RMN qualified with valid NMC pin number preferred but not essential
