Randstad are seeking an experienced and dedicated general nurse looking to take the next step in their career. A Nurse Practitioner to work within a community hospital environment in the Bishop Auckland area, for a period of 2-3 months, with likelihood of extension.

Pay rates are extremely attractive and offer up to £32-£52 per hour, as well as a flexible range of working hours including 8 and 12hr shifts, as well as a range of day, night, weekend and Bank Holiday work.

Responsibilities for this post include:

- Providing operational and clinical leadership within a community hospital environment

- Making sure their patients are at the centre, reinforcing the concept of a streamlined patient journey and improving the quality of care.

- Providing a fast response to calls from ward nursing staff, being able to prioritise urgency and clinical need.

- Assessing, diagnosing and treating, investigating, prescribing, and determining immediate care management of patients.

- Acting as team leader during medical emergencies and cardiac arrests and utilising an advanced knowledge base and advanced clinical skills to manage patients in these situations.

- Providing highly visible nursing leadership and advising on operational issues as they arise

- Making a significant contribution to patient flow through the organisation

- Acting as a patient safety and clinical quality champion, ensuring that services delivered to patients are safe and of a high quality.

- Provide specialist education and training. e.g. to ward nursing staff, nursing and medical students.

- Advanced practitioner, working autonomously in the assessment, diagnosis and management of unspecified clinical conditions.

- Operational manager, making a significant contribution to patient flow and coordination of operational issues whilst on duty

- Nurse leader, providing highly visible leadership over a 24 hour period.

- Coordinating activity of the nursing support services at BAGH including close liaison with the intravenous and resuscitation teams.

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner must:

- Be registered with the NMC

- Have experience in prescribing/a prescribing qualification

- Have physical assessment skills and clinical skills, including cannulation and venepuncture
