Legal Apprenticeship - Paralegal Trailblazer
We currently have a number of fantastic opportunities to join our Legal Services Company as a Legal Apprentice and develop a professional career within law. You will complete a Paralegal Trailblazer Apprenticeship over a two year period. You will be based in our Bristol office, working within our Claimant Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, or Contract Resolution team.
This is an exciting opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised legal qualification in an environment that provides support, training and practical work experience.
As a Legal Apprentice you will progress to manage your own caseload of client cases using our in-house case management system. This caseload will be built up as you learn and gain experience.
You will communicate with clients and various third parties, by telephone and through written correspondence, and will learn to progress each case through the necessary stages.
Through mentoring and training you will develop your confidence in providing effective legal advice to clients in relation to their claim, and the training that you receive on the job and as part of your qualification will help you understand the relevant law and legal processes.
This opportunity is a good alternative to going to university, where you will achieve a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification with the potential for further qualifications in the future.
- Previous experience is not necessary but you must be enthusiastic and motivated to develop a career within law;
- A willingness to learn;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Good team player;
- Organised and able to prioritise;
- Computer literate;
- In addition, you will be a keen learner, with the ability to balance the challenge of combining work and studying.
Education level required:
- You will hold at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at grade C or above;
- Plus 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
You will work 7 hours a day Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 6pm. The hours will either be 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10-6pm.
Your apprenticeship will be delivered via a combination of on-the-job learning and online webinar teaching, and you’ll receive support from your supervisor and an apprenticeship assessor. You will have a period of time each week allocated to your apprenticeship studies but will also be expected to study in your own time.
The apprenticeship will commence from 4th September 2017 and will last for two years.
