We seek an experienced Software Manager to head up a team of talented software engineers in our manufacturing business. Our business is experienceing outstanding growth and we are proud of the innovations led by our teams, this is a role where you will be using all of your own software development experiences to coach and develop your team, this is NOT a developer role.Brief summaryThe primary focus of the role is to manage the team including; managing the team schedule; assigning work and priorities; monitoring progress; managing work and staff issues; liaising with Project Managers and other section Managers to meet timescales; presenting progress and status updates. You will also be required to handle the day to day running of some of the smaller development projects, your role will require you to build relationships with other mananers within the business, liaise directly with clients and at times travel overseas to support the needs of the business.Key Responsibilities

To assist in developing new software and firmware products.*
To produce documentation as required for review and future reference, in fulfilment of our Quality standards*
To consistently define, follow and promote development processes for software creation, release and delivery.*
The ideal candidate would have a software development background, with the following skills and experience:

Software Development background*
Demonstrably conversant with using modern SW design and development practices – Design*
Patterns, version control, unit testing etc.*
Management or team lead experience*
Good planning and organisational skills*
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and turnaround projects in short timescales.*
Ability to allocate time and resources to meet the project priorities*
Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel*
Ability to understand and resolve technical difficulties*
Ability to give updates and snapshot reports to Senior Management as required.*
Ability to run (Project Manage) small projects as required*
Strong management capabilities*
Ability to work across the levels of Sales, Development, Manufacturing etc.*
Experience in working within an ISO90001 Quality system and contributing to its Development*
Knowledge of hardware and/or electronics*
Experience in programming at least one scripting language: Lua, Python, bash*
Hardware interfacing experience
