Are you an aspiring IT guru looking to step up and take your career to the next level? Razor sharp attention to detail but who can see the bigger picture and think logically? A major provider of Data, Electrical, Audio Visual and IT systems are looking for a First Line Support apprentice to join their team.

Who you`ll work for
You`ll work alongside the support team and have the opportunity to really own your responsibilities.
You`ll be the first line of support for external users, reporting to an enthusiastic IT Manager. This is a critical role responsible for being the first-line support for all employee IT requests. You`ll ensure our IT needs are met efficiently with a seamless customer experience through that channel as a First Line Support apprentice.

As a First Line Support Apprentice, your job includes:

- Installation of operating systems - manually and with imaging tools
- Installation of software and applications onto PC`s, laptops and devices.
- Installing hardware components into PC`s- RAM, Graphics cards, VGA/ DVI adapters etc.
- Using case management tools, team working and time management.
- Fault finding techniques.
- Checking for Network connectivity.
- Understanding and Applying IP addresses, Subnet masks
- Remote access software administration
- Connecting and configuration of PC`s onto a desktop location.
- Activating and managing user licences.
- Effective questioning and troubleshooting

What experience and skills do I need?
You don`t need loads of professional experience in IT. However, you`ll need at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and IT / Science.

We`re looking for an IT-enthusiast with:

- Great logic and solving problems
- Organisational and communication skills
- Experience working remotely
- Skills in compiling & analysing data
- The motivation to learn and improve processes
- Attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture

You might also have (but don`t need):

- Experience working in a helpdesk role
- An approachable personality
- A full, clean driving license
