Assessor - Highways Maintenance: The role.

* As an apprenticeship Assessor you will be competent to assess in Highway Maintenance
* Reporting to the Quality and Performance Manager, managing your own diary from home
* To deliver and assess construction operations in Highway Maintenance
* Travel and overnight stays are required with this position (fully expensed) so flexibility is essential
* Caseloads are around 50 learners, which will also include delivery of Technical Certificate
* Delivery of Training will typically be on a one to one basis with occasional group sessions to a maximum of 10 learners
* It is essential to be able to travel within a 30-40 mile radius and at times Nationally
* A Minimum salary of £30,000 is on offer with the potential to increase up to £35,000 dependant upon experience and qualifications
* Flexible working Hours (In relation to meeting industry needs)
* 20 days holiday +Bank Holidays
* Laptop, mobile and tools of the trade provided
* Mileage Paid @ 45p per Mile Paid From Home
* Full expenses including accommodation (where applicable)
* A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to commencement of role is required.

Assessor - Highways Maintenance: The essentials.

* Assessment/Assessing/Assessor Qualifications (A1,TAQA, CAVA etc)
* Knowledge of government funded employment and training programmes
* Knowledge of SFA funding
* Sound understanding of E-Portfolio assessment systems & Paper based
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Assessor - Highways Maintenance: Your experience.

* Minimum of 2 years occupational working experience in the construction industry
* Minimum 12 months assessing experience
* Experience in a similar role
* The ability to motivate and encourage people
* Accurate report writing and record keeping skills
* Observing and assessing learners in their workplace
* Questioning learners about how they would deal with non-standard work situations
* Maintaining records of learners progress

Assessor - Highways Maintenance: The desirables.

* A Construction NVQ Qualification
* CSCS Card
* Health & Safety Knowledge within the construction industry
* Self-sufficient & be able to follow instructions
* Flexible to be able to work some unsociable hours
