Job Overview: On behalf of our client, a successful Injection Moulding Manufacturer, we are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Technician. EXPIRES 20/07/17

The role of the Quality Technician will be to support day to day product / process conformance for outsourced & internal moulded components as well as containment & improvement of quality concerns. For the role of Quality Technician, the successful candidate will have a Quality / Engineering background with prior automotive experience as well as knowledge of PPAP requirements and moulding & quality issues.

• Support sub-suppliers (core / external) with quality performance
• Support introduction of new product projects
• Monitor process performance & KPI’s to drive improvements in PPM’s
• Represent mould shop as customer liaison for sub suppliers, when introducing new components & reviewing quality concerns

Key Tasks:
• Manage & report sub supplier rejections
• Carry out planned Process audits within external business
• Provide daily / weekly / monthly reports on quality performance
• Oversee implementation of containment & corrective actions for faulty components (outsourced / external business)
• Assist in identification / implementation of improvement activities
• Support NPI to ensure documents, processes etc are correct for SOP
• Drive 8D & root cause analysis actions

Additional Skills/Qualifications required:
The successful candidate will have:
• Quality / Engineering background with relevant qualification (ONC min desirable) and prior auto-motive experience
• Working knowledge of SPC
• Knowledge of PPAP requirements
• Knowledge of moulding & quality processes
• Flexible approach
• Comfortable when working both on own or as part of a team
• Good communication skills (written & oral)
• Computer literate (Microsoft packages)
