Site Supervisor £30,000 - £37,000pa



* To provide full operational supervision to the site and manage the safe operation and maintenance including assisting the site manager in the up keep of all site documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Manage day to day liaison with contractors and visitors
* Work closely with the department's landfill gas team to ensure best advantage from both operations.


* To provide full operational supervision and manage the day to day operational activities on site in accordance with the Company Procedures.
* Maintain compliance with statutory, regulatory, legislative, BMS and corporate requirements.


* Deliver safe and efficient site operations at all waste management facilities within your remit.
* Ensure compliance with all Company procedures, statutory legislation and industry good practice.
* Maintain good employee relations including managing absence, annual leave to assist the Unit Manager with carrying out annual Performance Appraisal Reviews (PAR's) and Annual Training Reviews of all direct reports.
* Remain aware at all times of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety, for the Health and Safety of those directly responsible to you, your work colleagues and any others who may be effected by the operations under your responsibility or control.
* Manage contractors, visitors and other employees undertaking activities on site to ensure compliance with Policies and Procedures. This includes, but is not limited to; the provision of Site Inductions, review of H&S documentation before issuing ATW or PTW and the subsequent monitoring to ensure compliance Policies and Procedures.
* Apart from the duties summarised in your Role Profile, the company reserve the right to include other reasonable duties which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work.



IOSH Supervising Safely or equivalent Health and Safety qualification

Continual Professional Development in relevant field

Full driving license



* Capable of leading Health and safety change and designing and embedding best practice
* Capable of prioritisation and delegation.
* Practical experience of liaising with regulators at all levels. Effecting change and balancing risk
* Experience in driving plant e.g Tractor, Waste Compactor, Loading Shovel, 25 Tonne ADT, 360/180 Excavator
* General administration and office duties


* The management of an operational unit to a high level
* General knowledge of the waste industry and related operations
* Good working knowledge of relevant legislation that relates to the operation of landfill sites
* Working knowledge of leachate management systems including treatment plants
* Good knowledge of market development
* Knowledge of corporate financial systems and capital expenditure management
* Knowledge and competence in reviewing and influencing Asset Management and Planned/periodic maintenance systems e.g CMMS
* Working knowledge of landfill gas management systems
